Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

By creating an account or using HangarFile, you agree to these terms. If you’re using HangarFile on behalf of an organization, you’re agreeing for that organization too.

The service

HangarFile is a hosted tool for recording, searching, and tracking aircraft logbook entries and maintenance compliance. We provide the software and infrastructure; you provide and remain responsible for the accuracy of the records you enter.

Not a substitute for airworthiness determination

HangarFile is a recordkeeping and reference aid, not an authority on airworthiness or regulatory compliance. AI-transcribed entries, AD compliance search results, and maintenance status shown in the app are assistive only — every AI-extracted entry requires your review before it’s saved, and every AD match requires your review before being tracked as applicable. Determining an aircraft’s airworthiness and compliance with applicable Airworthiness Directives remains the responsibility of the aircraft owner, operator, and/or a qualified mechanic, per FAA regulations. Do not rely solely on HangarFile to make an airworthiness determination.

A supplement to your official logbook, not a replacement

HangarFile is a supplement to your aircraft’s official logbook, not a replacement for it. Depending on your aircraft, operation, and jurisdiction, regulations may require you to maintain and produce the actual paper or otherwise regulator-designated logbook — using HangarFile doesn’t change or satisfy that requirement. Keep your official logbook current regardless of how you use HangarFile.

Your account

You’re responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for anyone you grant sharing or collaborator access to.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Plans are billed monthly through Stripe at the price shown at signup ($5/month Own Key, $10/month Platform Key, or as otherwise listed on our Pricing page).
  • You can cancel at any time; your account continues in a read-only grace period for 7 days after cancellation so you can export your data.
  • The Platform Key plan includes AI usage up to a monthly allowance; the Own Key plan uses your own Anthropic API key with no usage cap from us.
  • Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Acceptable use

Don’t use HangarFile to store data you don’t have the right to store, attempt to disrupt the service, or access accounts other than your own.

Your data

You own the data you enter. You can export a printable logbook or a complete data-and-photo archive at any time, independent of your subscription status (subject to the grace period above).

Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practical.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

HangarFile is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HangarFile is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for airworthiness, maintenance, or compliance decisions made using information from the service.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we’ll notify account holders by email before they take effect.
